Owen SterlingClosing windows in a dream occurs when the mind attempts to regulate the flow of external information or future possibilities into the current field of awareness. This process serves to consolidate the internal environment by limiting the reach of what lies ahead or what remains outside the immediate circle of concern.
The act of narrowing the view provides a way for the brain to manage the intake of new perspectives or potential changes. This movement toward containment can result in a reduction of the foresight that usually accompanies an open outlook. Such a dream marks a period where the focus shifts from what might be to what is currently being held.
The dreamer experiences a withdrawal from the breadth of the horizon. This movement creates a boundary that limits the influence of the world on the private sphere. The visual world is pulled back to leave only what is inside.
Windows not locking in the dream suggest that the boundaries being established are not entirely secure. The dreamer lacks the way to keep the world from entering, which leaves the attempt at seclusion incomplete.
The house in the dream provides the setting of the dreamer’s personal life and current circumstances. Closing windows in the house indicates that the efforts to manage external influence are being directed specifically toward the stability of the domestic or private world.
The action of locking windows makes the separation from the outside world a final and certain thing.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
